Our Founder
David Epps, a Life Long Hiker and Paddler at Heart.
David Epps earned his Life Scout rank in 1969 after earning all other ranks of the Boy Scout and Cub Scouts. He did this despite attending 8 different grade schools in 3 countries and 6 US states and 2 Canadian provinces.. He earned his mile swim in the Yellow Sea off the coast of South Korea and his 50 miler at Philmont Scout Ranch. He was in the Canadian Boy Scouts and earned his Royal Life Saving badge while there. He earned 21 US and Canadian merit badges. He was inducted into the Order of the Arrow while in South Korea. He learned most of his outdoor skills while associated with the Boy Scouts of America.
David Epps worked as an assistant Scout master during the summer at Camp Tamaracouta in northern Quebec Canada and Assistant Scoutmaster of troop 166 of Mountain Home Arkansas. He was the Explore Post leader at Interdata Computer Corporation in Oceanport, New Jersey where he taught Explorers Basic language programming and hands on operation of the companies OS32MT2 operating system
After a long hiatus from the BSA, during which David Epps hiked many miles of the Appalachian trail, Missouri Ozark Trail, Arkansas Mt. Magazine trail, trails in Rocky Mountain National Park, and climbed to the summit of Longs Peak in Colorado. David Epps rafted (paddle and oar powered) the Colorado (Cataract Canyon, Westwater), Green (Gates of Ladore) , North Platte, Yampa (inflatable kayak), and Arkansas (Royal Gorge) rivers in Colorado, including through the Grand Canyon, he became attached to and assisted in activities of Scout BSA Venturing Crew in 2015-2018.
David Epps has canoed the Current, Eleven Point, and Jacks Fork rivers entire length in southern Missouri and many other rivers in Missouri, to include the Black, St. Francis, Huzzah, and Gasconade rivers, and busted the rapids of the Ocoee River in Tennessee and rafted the Motu River in New Zealand.
David Epps is a US Army veteran spending his duty working with satellite communication systems at Fort Monmouth, NJ and obtaining his rank as Captain. He has a private pilot license and qualified to fly single engine land aircraft Visual Flight Rules.
David Epps was attached to his daughter's venturing crew and supported their activities but alas his daughter has gone off to collage and is no longer in a Crew. He is working to start a Venturing Crew in Dexter, Missouri. David Epps was an advisor to Scout BSA Troop 4370, Puxico, MO.
BSA Merit Badge booklets are a valuable source of outdoor skills and crafts. David Epps was a Scout BSA Merit Badge Counselor for the Sioux District in Missouri to include the following Merit Badges:
- Aviation - He has a private pilots license and checked out in single engine land with visual flight rules.
- Backpacking - See above

- * Citizenship in the World - He has worked in US, Canada, New Zealand, South Korea, and Holland
- * Communication - He was ROTC Pershing Rifle pledge trainer. He taught computer programming as Explorer Post leader. He spoke at various meetings for and against various ballot issues
- Digital Technology - He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering.
- * Cycling - He cycled to/from work regularly.
- Drafting - He drafts electrical and mechanical drawings in his work.
- Electronics - He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Electricity - He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Energy - He has researched the energy production and energy consumption of the US using the Energy Information Agency data base to include a spreadsheet that modeled cost of the transitioning from gasoline fuel to natural gas fuel for US automobile fleet.

- Home Repairs - He owned and operated, and maintained 72 apartments and 4 unit strip mall. He gut remodeled three homes.
- Leatherwork - He carved and sold purses, bowling bags, billfolds, medallion leather products.
- Orienteering - He is US Army trained.
- Plumbing - He has plumbed homes in copper, cast iron, PVC, and PEX.
- Programming - He is an expert C#, PHP, Perl, Basic, C, C++, and assembly language programmer.
- Surveying - He was a surveying crew rod man.
- * Sustainability - He implemented plans to reduce common area electricity usage and water consumption. He installed solar whole house and domestic hot water heating for my home in Denver.

David Epps' goal is to canoe more rivers and hike more trails.
David Epps is the founder of Ten Mile High LLC. He graduated with Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, Arkansas.
